Katey is a seasoned forester with over five years of experience in land management with both federal and tribal agencies. Most recently, she served as a “pyrosilviculturist” in the fire-adapted forests of the Western U.S., integrating forest ecology and silviculture to foster resilient landscapes and safer communities. A Michigan native, she holds a B.S. from Michigan State University and an M.F. in Forestry from Michigan Technological University. Now in Downeast Maine, Katey brings her dedication to the stewardship of both land and community as the land manager for DLLT. When she’s not working in the woods, you will probably still find her there—hiking, hunting, or paddling alongside her two bird dogs, Olive and Hemlock, and their fearless sidekick, Parsley the pug.
