Serious Skills for Boys and Girls is a free weekly ½ day program on Thursday mornings across the summer, with outdoor skills activities tailored for children aged 10-16.
History & Heritage Series consists of year-round free or low cost workshops, presentations, and outdoor activities which focus on conserving and developing natural and cultural history knowledge of the region. All ages are welcome to participate.
Book Talks are offered in conjunction with the Grand Lake Stream Historical Society. Often presented by the author, the free year-round program features books which highlight the region and/or local authors. All ages are welcome to participate.
When visiting the Grand Lake Stream area, if busy schedules don’t align with our public program dates, we now have another educational option. DLLT is pleased to be offering “Private Education Programs” in the Grand Lake Stream area. For more information about these programs, please click the following link: DLLT Private Programs. Please contact DLLT if you would like to schedule a program.
The Downeast Lakes Land Trust (DLLT) offers programs for K-12 school groups designed to provide authentic hands-on learning experiences in the forests and waters of the Downeast Lakes region.
DLLT school programs are aligned with STEM and Common Core Curriculum standards so that they can easily be integrated into school schedules. Many of these programs are based on the awarding-winning Project Learning Tree and Project Wild Curricula.
DLLT is willing and eager to design and develop programs that meet the specific needs and goals of schools and individual teachers. Contact DLLT to schedule a program either in your school or in the Downeast Lakes Community Forest.
