Paddlers considering a trip on the Downeast Lakes Water Trail often look for more information – the land trust brochure with map and campsite locations and descriptions is a good starting point, but since most of us have limited vacation time, and want to plan for a great experience, more information can be a big help.
Two newly posted trip journals on www.downeastlakes.org give the flavor of the area. They describe routes, campsites, and activities, and include photos. They should inspire and give ideas to paddlers contemplating their own trips. Thanks to Andy Petkofsky and Karen Herold for contributing their journals. Happy paddling!
