From Left to Right – Kallie Clapper, Colin Brown, David Lappin
There is great excitement in the Downeast Lakes Land Trust office this week as we welcome our new Education and Outreach Manager, Colin Brown, and our summer 2015 conservation interns, David Lappin and Kallie Clapper. Colin lives in Pembroke, Maine, and worked most recently as an Education Technician at Shead High School in Eastport. A passionate naturalist and educator, Colin will head up DLLT’s schedule of fun and exciting events and programs while also maintaining DLLT’s print, web, and social media.
David Lappin is in his third year studying marine biology at the University of Delaware. A resident of Chatham, New Jersey, David has spent many summers hiking and fishing near Rangley, Maine, and we are pleased to welcome him Downeast this summer. David is an avid fly-fisherman, so look for him casting for salmon in Grand Lake Stream in his spare time.
Kallie Clapper is a rising senior in the environmental studies program at Alfred University, in Upstate New York. After arriving in Grand Lake Stream in early June, she has jumped wholeheartedly into her role with DLLT by visiting area lodges, assisting in our water quality program, and hitting the trails in the Farm Cove Community Forest for cleanup and trailblazing. Kallie is an enthusiastic tennis player, so keep an out for her at the tennis courts in Grand Lake Stream where she just might challenge you to a match.
Stop by the office to say hello to all of the new faces at DLLT, or come to one of the programs in our exciting summer lineup!
