The Maine Folklife Center at the University of Maine is now featuring George MacArthur’s “The Wabassus Cannonball”. Click the link on the song title for more information and to hear the 1969 song. It’s part of Grand Lake Stream’s rich tradition of Guides, and the stories they still tell masterfully, though the story is of its era. Wabassus Lake lies in the center of Downeast Lakes Land Trust’s Farm Cove Community Forest.
