Would your organization like to learn more about community forests and what other groups have learned about their value to communities? Interested in hearing about opportunities to develop new community forests?
You are invited to join Downeast Lakes Land Trust, Northern Forest Center, Downeast Conservation Network, and Maine Coast Heritage Trust on Saturday, June 24th from 8:30 am – 4 pm for a day to tour, learn, and dialogue about the strengths and challenges of community forestry in the Downeast region. This is a free community event, with lunch included!
Through forums, dialogues, and panels, while in the community center, on boats (if weather cooperates) and in vans, participants and presenters will discuss and explore the community forest model, what’s been learned to date, and opportunities for new community forests.
Presenters and dialogue leaders include Downeast Lakes Land Trust staff and board members; Julie Renaud Evans from the Northern Forest Center; Anica Miller Rushing from Downeast Conservation Network; and Caroline Pryor from Working for Land and Community.
Event hosted is made possible with support from the Jessie B. Cox Foundation.
