Early wildflower blooms are one of the true delights of spring in Downeast Maine.  On Friday, May 18, join DLLT Education and Outreach Manager Colin Brown for a “Spring Wildflower Walk.”  We will head into the Downeast Lakes Community Forest in search of spring “ephemerals” – short-lived wildflowers that bloom before the forest canopy closes in, such as trilliums, violets, and lillies.  Some of the walk will be off-trail, over uneven ground, so interested participants should bring sturdy footwear and be prepared for the weather.  Other items that might be useful are cameras, wildflower guides, and water.  We will meet in the Grand Lake Stream dam parking lot at 8 am.  For more information, please contact DLLT at (207) 796 – 2100, or email cbrown@downeastlakes.org.
