Independence Day
July 4 Celebration Events
Join us in Grand Lake Stream for a 4th of July celebration with a day packed full of activities!
Start the morning with our annual “Race For Grand Lake Stream”, watch the floats go by in the parade, and then grab a tube and float down the river.
PLEASE NOTE THE STREAM TUBING EVENT LOCATION HAS BEEN UPDATED. REGISTRATION AND STREAM ENTRY WILL BE AT THE HATCHERY THIS YEAR.
Road Race
7:45am to 8:25am. Registration is open. DLLT will have a table set up on the ballfield. Race is free and donations are welcome.
8:30am. The race begins at the school building, goes down Water Street for 1.5 miles and then back.
There will be five age categories for both male and female participants:

Prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each category are:
- Grand Lake Stream Map and Birds print
- Downeast Lakes Land Trust hat
- Fall Photo of Grand Lake Stream poster
Parade
The line-up for the parade is at 10:30am at the cemetary.
11:00am. Parade starts.
Parade ends at the ballfield. The opening ceremony is at noon in the ballpark and the frog race starts shortly thereafter!
Stream Tubing
1:00pm to 3:00pm. LOCATION CHANGED THIS YEAR: Tubing begins at the HATCHERY parking lot on the north side of the stream.
Bringing your own life jacket is highly encouraged. DLLT will have a few extra life jackets available to borrow if needed. Participants must sign a waiver, receive a waterproof bracelet, and have a properly fitting life jacket.
DLLT has tubes and will provide rides from the takeout point back up stream to the HATCHERY parking lot for participants.
