Downeast Lakes Land Trust is currently conducting a sustainable timber harvest in the community forest that is in close proximity to the village of Grand Lake Stream. This harvest is part of a multi-year project in cooperation with the town of Grand Lake Stream, providing improved habitat and a source of food for white-tailed deer during the winter months. On Thursday, February 1st, join DLLT staff for a guided tour through this active harvest site, discussing the wildlife importance of this harvest. Interested participants should meet at the DLLT office at 1 pm, and wear sturdy footwear and dress for the weather. For more information, please contact DLLT at (207) 796 – 2100 or email info@downeastlakes.org.
