Do you enjoy birding? Do you enjoy walks through nature? Join Downeast Lakes Land Trust in Grand Lake Stream to participate in the annual Christmas Bird Count. This event is a part of a long-term citizen science effort coordinated by the Audubon Society to provide insight about where birds are, what their habitats are like, and how land managers can best serve bird populations in their area. Meet at 8:00 a.m. on January 4th at the DLLT office at 4 Water Street in Grand Lake Stream. Dress warmly for this outdoor program. It’s for the birds!

Can’t make it quite at 8:00 a.m., but live in Grand Lake Stream? Don’t fret! You can contribute data from the comfort of your own living room on January 4th. Send us a list of all the birds you see at your feeder that day (koconnell@downeastlakes.org), and we can add them to our count.
