The Conservation Alliance announced a $35,000 grant to Downeast Lakes Land Trust for the the West Grand Lake Community Forest Project.
The Conservation Alliance is a group of outdoor industry companies that makes grants to environmental organizations for community-based campaigns to protect threatened wild habitat, preferably where outdoor enthusiasts recreate. The Alliance was founded in 1989 by industry leaders who shared the goal of increasing outdoor industry support for conservation efforts, and now has more than 175 member companies. DLLT was nominated by Eastern Mountain Sports, and all of the members of the Alliance voted on projects to support across the country.
We are honored to receive the support of the Conservation Alliance, and wish to thank all of the member companies for their contribution to conservation. This support will help protect Forests and Lakes, For People, Forever, and ensure the heritage of Grand Lake Stream, Maine as a destination for outdoor recreation. On the water or in the woods, our enjoyment of outdoor recreation benefits from land conservation.
