Annual Wreath-making Popular Community Event

December 7, 2012

Every year just after Thanksgiving, Downeast Lakes Land Trust offers a “Tipping” field trip to gather boughs of balsam fir on the Farm Cove Community Forest and a Wreath-making party.

Our volunteers ensure these events are fun, and each year they draw a great crowd eager to share in the community holiday spirit.  This year’s participants came from Grand Lake Stream, Indian Township, and Princeton.  Many created wreaths as gifts and for their own homes, and many also contributed wreaths to decorate the graves of veterans in Grand Lake Stream.

The photos from the tipping and wreath-making party were also popular with those not able to attend, drawing lots of praise and positive comment on the land trust Facebook page.
